Potters Bar
The design brief was to create an open kitchen, dining space with a closer relationship with the garden and to bring in lots of natural light and ventilation to an otherwise dark and compartmentalized layout.
The new scheme proposes removing the existing conservatory to create a new dining and larger kitchen by pushing the existing external wall to the side. By taking the roof up to follow the line of the existing ceiling, we were able to create a seamless open living space .Roof lights were introduced to bring in natural light and ventilation into every corner of the room.
The Aluminum sliding folding doors open the space up onto the deck and the garden, and thereby creating a fluid relationship with the landscaping, giving the feeling of a larger space.
